About us

Welcome to the online home of Brightlingsea and District Rotary Club.  Formed in 1960, we are a relatively small but very active club based in Brightlingsea in North Essex meeting fortnightly on Mondays, typically at 6.30pm. Our meeting venues vary and individual meeting details will be available from secretarybrightlingsearotary@gmail.com

We are also very much an equal opportunities club with almost equal numbers of male and female members and in recent years the addition of new members has brought our age demographic down considerably too.

We focus on organising and supporting a wide range of local community events and organisations as well as getting involved with both national and international Rotary initiatives. Amongst the local events which we organise are the annual Brightlingsea Jog Walk Run in aid of Essex Air Ambulance, our famous December Santa Sleigh Runs which raise much needed funds for local causes, and the infamous annual Welly Wanging Competition at the Brightlingsea Town Show.  Alongside these headline events we also run and support a wide range of other fundraising and community activites in Brightlingsea and the surrounding area.  You can find out more about some of these activities in our What We Do section of the website.

We are actively seeking new members for our club so do please make contact with us if you would like to find out more about what we do.

To find out more about our activities please contact our Secretary Penny Kraft on secretarybrightlingsearotary@gmail.com or 07711 718470
